Cloud migration of UBS Financial Rating Application

The project

UBS’ Financial Rating Application (FiRA) calculates the credit rating of clients based on their financial data. The more than 600 credit managers of the bank also use FiRA to review loan applications. At the beginning of the COVID pandemic, FiRA was one of the most important applications for the granting of Corona credits. The application mastered the extraordinary volume without any downtime. Currently, UBS and Adnovum are updating the application’s user interface and migrating FiRA into the cloud.

  • The goal: To bring the application and its features up to date, make them «cloud-ready» and completely migrate them into the cloud.
  • The process: Adnovum supports UBS in five phases ranging from analysis and design to migration of the application.
  • The result: The updated back-end with permissions is now cloud-enabled. The user interface created in the front-end was designed by the UX team to be state-of-the-art, user-friendly and in line with the current corporate design.

  • Cloud Foundry allows for both full scalability and an open architecture and thus an ecosystem is created
  • The path for future applications in Cloud Foundry has been paved
  • The automated installation process allows future releases to be deployed faster
